22,000 square feet
$2.5 Million Budget
This is the most exciting project that I ever worked on because of the sheer scale, budget, number of objects and time it took to put the whole thing together. I was hired about 4 years into the design process as the Heard Museum Exhibit Designer. When I came on board, the majority of the design had been finished by a team of 4 architects from Studio MA and Holly Street Studios, as well as the Exhibit Design Firm Ganymede Design Group.
On the Intro Gallery aka Kitchell Gallery was to design the casework, assist the curators in selecting objects, layout the objects, select a color pallet, design the lighting, work with the graphic designers, work with the mount makers, have the gallery furniture fabricated, and install the objects in the cases with the curators and registrars.
For the main HOME exhibit I was to draw the objects, layout the objects in the cases, work with the graphic designers to locate, design and fabricate the graphics, work with the mount makers to decide on the proper mounts to make, and install the objects in the cases with the curators and registrars.
